Island Wildfire is a lovely palomino pinto sabino stallion who was a veteren of the 2001 swim. He was purchased at the Pony Penning Auction by the Pony Centre, and used as a stallion for their Misty family mares. "Pocomoke" as he is affectionately called, got his nickname from the Marguerite Henry books - it was the name of the town where the vet lived that attended to Misty when she was expecting the delivery of her foal Stormy. Pocomoke has had several foals that are descendents of Misty, and he was used to bring his rare "Misty" color back into the family bloodlines. Pocomoke is a sweet boy, and has a darling head. His full double mane and tail had been trimmed from pasture burs, but they are growing back in full and long now! Not only does this boy carry the creme gene, and the tobiano gene - but I believe he carries a Sabino gene as well....which will make for some VERY flashy coloring in his foals! Pocomoke is easy to handle and loves attention and being brushed. He loads, leads, ties, and trims well, and is still young enough to be trained to saddle or harness....and with his rare and beautiful coloring, he would surely turn heads in parades. If you are wanting to add some of the famed "silver and gold" coloring to your foals - the very coloring that made Marguerite and so many others fall in love with Misty - Pocomoke is the stallion to help you with that!
