DNA Color Test Results - N/Cr - Flitty has one Creme gene and is verified a rare Smokey Black!!!
Flitty Wren is an athletic smokey black filly, curly coated, with a muscular build, and a sweet disposition. She is from one of my favorite young mares and I really like this little filly too! She comes by her name honestly, as, when she was first born, Magpie could hardly keep up with her.....she would gallop over here, then back over there.....just like a flitty little wren in the garden! She is on our "probably gonna keep her" list, as smokey black, curly fillies with all her qualities are quite hard to find. Her coat color indicates that she is carrying a creme gene, which would mean she is capable of throwing foals that are buckskin, palomino, or any of the other dilute colors - depending too, of course, on the color of the stallion. We love watching the growth and color changes of foals like Flitty Wren.....they just continue to impress us more and more each day! Flitty Wren is offered for sale : $3000.
Just look at that beautiful marcel wave!!! This is Flitty Wren in her summer coat, and pictured at just 16 months old.....WOW! We will DNA test her soon for the creme gene....from the looks of her coat, I would say she carries it! (We were right - the DNA test results are back, and Flitty has one creme gene!!!) This young filly is such a great example of a Curly.....plenty of bone, a nice short back, and that sweet expression! We surely won't mind one bit if Flitty stays here - she will be a stunning riding horse and will have exceptional foals when bred to either of our stallions. Apache and Mister both have a creme gene.....add that to Flitty's smokey black, and she will definately have some lovely foals with color!!!
