Stag Creek Heartdancing
ABC # pending - f. 3-4-2008.
Sire: Prairie Hawk Apache Dun ABC 3485 - Dam: Warrior Mead Sioux Z Crow ABC S-592

Here is our first new foal for 2008, and what a cutie! I think you can see where he partially got his name. When the mares were not up by the corral in the early morning, I suspected that we had a new foal. So I set off through the woods to find them. After crossing the little draw that carries water to our creek, I saw tiny hoofprints in the mud. I hurried toward the field....and there, lying by the plum thicket was my Sioux Z, and a little golden mound lying beside her! He was several hours old already - and they had clearly already been for water.....but they were slumbering now, in the early spring grass with the other mares and fillies standing guard. So here he is.....a lovely tri-colored tobiano curly colt, with a near perfect heart on his forehead. His foal coat is beautiful, and even though he did not get his sire's hidden creme gene, this is one special colt. He has lots of bone and seems to be well built - though not all the way unfolded in these photos (about 12 hours old). Heartdancing is a big colt with lots of curl and loads of hair.....and he will have lots of feathering on his fetlocks, as the hair there already hangs down over his hooves, and both his sire and dam keep long fetlock hair throughout the year. Heartdancing's potential as a sire will be endless too....I can see many wonderful foals in this guys future.....he is everything we could have hoped for! If you love well built Curlies with unique markings and color, I'm sure this colt will make your heart "dance" too!
